ACCRA, GHANA — In a major effort to tackle local sanitation challenges and prevent seasonal flooding, a coalition of dynamic youth groups within the Trobu constituency has announced the upcoming launch of a massive community clean-up campaign.
The widespread environmental exercise is being heavily spearheaded, organized, and sponsored by Mr. Philip Kwabla Folie, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Philirod Co. Ltd., a prominent Ghanaian logistics and construction services firm.
Mobilizing for Action
Scheduled to take place over the upcoming weekend, the campaign seeks to gather hundreds of young volunteers to clear choked gutters, desilt drainage systems, and sweep major public pathways across key electoral areas, including Amasaman, Pokuase, and Ofankor.
With seasonal rains already causing concerns across the capital, organizers emphasize that this intervention is critical to ensuring free-flowing drainage and reducing the risk of flash floods and vector-borne diseases like malaria.
Corporate Leadership and Vision
Speaking ahead of the exercise, Mr. Philip Kwabla Folie highlighted that maintaining a clean environment requires collective civic action rather than relying solely on local government authorities.
We cannot wait for disasters to happen before we react,” Mr. Folie stated. “The youth of Trobu have shown that they are ready to work for the betterment of their community. Philirod Co. Ltd. is fully committed to providing the heavy logistics, sanitation tools, protective gear, and resources needed to make this exercise a resounding success. This is about taking ownership of our health and our environment.”
A Call for Volunteers
The leadership of the youth groups is inviting all residents, transport unions, market associations, and faith-based organizations within the Trobu constituency to come out in their numbers and support the exercise.
Assurance has been given that ample protective equipment, food, and refreshments will be provided for all participants, courtesy of the headline sponsor, Mr. Philip Kwabla Folie.
